Seven different players scored for the Redwings, who put the game away with five second half goals. T.J. McVey, Nico Picha (assist)
Anthony Klos, Nick Renfro (assist), Nolan Martini, Reece Taylor and Mike Fernandes (assist) scored for Benet, which is ranked 11th in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25. Nick Augustyn produced a pair of assists for the Redwings (6-1-0, 2-0-0), who received additional helpers from John Kolb and Hans Haenicke. Goalkeepers Vyto Staniskis and Hunter Randolph combined for the shutout. Benet's next contest is a nonconference home battle against Neuqua Valley at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.


Upstate Eight Conference

South Elgin 1, Elgin 1
Angel Garcia-Resendiz's PK goal in the first half allowed South Elgin (3-4-3, 0-1-2) to earn a league road point. Zack Juszko (goal against, seven saves) and Christian Andrew (five saves) split the game in goal for the Storm.


Nonconference

St. Charles East 3, Kaneland 0
The no. 24 Fighting Saints (9-1-1) did all their scoring in the first half on a brace from sophomore Sebastian Carranza and a solo tally from Jake Maslowski. Ryan Champine and Alex Mancera delivered assists for the Saints. Goalkeeper Jack Settle made three saves for St.Charles East's eighth shutout of the season.
