Benet 8, Marian Central 0

The Redwings' Nick Renfro started the game with a goal in the first 3 minutes of play and the rout was on. T.J. McVey led the way with a hat-trick, Renfro added a brace and Franklin Rutkowski, Ethan Ferguson and Michael Rocco each added a solo tally. Benet takes a 3-0-0 record into the Best of the West Tournament where it opens against Geneva at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Naperville North.




Hillner Classic

Wheaton North 5, South Elgin 1

After taking a 1-0 lead into the second half, Wheaton North scored the final four goals of the game in the round-robin event at Lake Park. Will Wanzenberg (Ethan Shikany assist) gave the Falcons the lead in the sixth minute. After Jack McCall tied the game for South Elgin three minutes into the new half, Wheaton North scored four goals in a 25-minute span. Eric Rozanski scored a brace, Leo DeLaTorre contributed a goal and an assist, and Jack Morrissey chipped in with a goal for the Falcons.




Boilermaker Invitational

Neuqua Valley 1, Lincoln-Way Central 1 (NV wins PKs 4-3)
West Aurora 7, Neuqua Valley 1

Sean Osoba (Jaison Chisnell assist) scored in the first half and the Wildcats prevailed in a shooutout to advance to the consolation final at Bradley-Bourbonnais. There Jack Bella's goal was not enough to hold off West Aurora, which took a 2-0 halftime lead en route to the victory.




Nonconference

Wheaton Academy 2, Geneva 0

The host Warriors took the lead early in the second half when Seamus Kilgallon bounced one off the post and in. Daniel Rychenkov followed with his first goal of the year for an insurance tally. Goalkeeper R.J. Simmons posted the shutout. Wheaton Academy (2-0-0) will face its first road test of the season Monday night in Elmwood Park.
