Hailey Rydberg, Gia Wahlberg, Claudia Najera and Cassidy Joyce scored in the shootout, and goalkeeper Sara Maleski stopped two spot-tries to advance the top-ranked North Stars. Rydberg scored on a PK in the 39th minute that gave St. Charles North a lead that lasted for 34 minutes.




Semifinals

St. Charles North 2, Waukee (Ia.) 0
First half goals from Gia Wahlberg and Bella Falco propelled the North Stars (12-0-1) to a berth in the bracket final. Nathalie Grier (three saves) and Sara Maleski (none) split the shutout. St. Charles North meets Centennial (Ia.) in the final at 11:30 a.m. Saturday (April 28).
