Group A
Naperville Central 2, Oswego 1
The Redhawks (6-7-0) ended a three-game losing streak with their win in their group opener. Caroline Reedy (Sarah Avery assist) and Jessica Sonner (Hannah Bradley-Leon) provided the offense. Naperville Central will guarantee itself a spot in the quarterfinals with a win, shootout win or shootout loss against Sandburg on Saturday.


Group B
Neuqua Valley 1, Conant 0
The sixth-ranked Wildcats won their sixth-straight game and qualified for the quarterfinals next Thursday with the win. Shannon Tagler's unassisted second half goal was the difference for the offense. Goalkeeper Kacey Gillespie made five saves to earn the shutout for Neuqua Valley (6-3-0).
