Benet 3, Notre Dame 1

The Redwings took their second-straight conference title and extended their league unbeaten streak to 23 games. Nico Picha (assist) notched the game-winner in the 49th minute, and Hans Haenicke (Nick Roe) added the insurance goal. Brendan Forsythe scored in the sixth minute for Benet, which is ranked fourth in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25. Sam Hepburn provided the helper on the decisive score. Keeper Nolan Hart made five saves in the victory. The Redwings (12-1-0, 9-0-0), the 2019 Class AA champion, host the 2019 Class 3A titleist West Chicago at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

  

Metro Suburban Conference Blue Division

Wheaton Academy 3, Aurora Christian 0

The no. 25 Warriors (9-3-1, 7-1-0) prevailed with a composed effort. The visitors jumped out to an early lead as Caleb Mariotti found Rian Bautista with a through-ball for the opening goal in the first minute of play. Bautista collected his brace in the 20th minute. The goal came after a clever pass from Andrew Ramirez, who scored the final goal of the night and his first for the season, in the 76th minute. Mariotti provided his second assist of the night on the play. Declan Finnegan earned the clean-sheet with three saves. The Warriors get no rest for a crucial home match against Riverside-Brookfield on Tuesday. The team will honor its seniors at 6 p.m. The match begins at 6:30.

Upstate Eight Conference

East Aurora 3, South Elgin 1

Ryan Doherty (Alex Wano) knocked home a second half goal, but it wasn't enough for the Storm (4-4-1, 3-3-0). South Elgin's next game action is against Bartlett at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Millennium Field in Streamwood.
