Benet 9, Marian Central  0

Benet (5-1-0, 3-0-0) continued its strong run in league play in dominant fashion. A seven-goal first half cemented the outcome. John Kolb had a great performance with two goals and an assist in the first half. Brendan Forsythe added a brace. Hans Haenicke, Preston Wray, Nico Picha, Andy Nash and Peter Hepburn joined the scoring parade. Assists came from Picha, Haenicke, Alex Blacha, Hepburn, Andy Nash Owen McGarry and Danny Boyle. Keepers Evan Lucas and Nolan Hart were not tested in the 60-minute match. "It was a great team effort overall,: Kolb said. "It was great to see so many names on the score sheet. Our defense and goalies played great." Benet, ranked sixth in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, will look to stay unbeaten in conference play in their next matchup versus Saint Viator at 4:30 p.m. Monday at home.

DuKane Conference

St. Charles East 4, Wheaton North 1
John Ruiz scored a hat-trick in the resounding win for the no. 9 Fighting Saints (7-2-1, 4-2-1). Sebastian Carranza's score gave St. Charles East a 2-1 halftime lead; he also recorded an assist. Alex Mancera recorded the other three helpers. Tyler Benhart made two saves and allowed the lone goal against in 20 minutes of work. Jake Boecher played the rest of the way and made three saves. Wheaton North fell to (3-2-2, 3-2-2).


St. Charles North 5, Batavia 1
Luke Persenico recorded his third hat-trick of the season for the no. 8 North Stars. Sam Strader contributed a goal and assist, and Jason Krueger added a goal. Jared Sinnaeve (2) and Ajay Girish chipped in with assists. St. Charles North is now 7-0-0 in the DuKane Conference and 8-1-0 overall. Batavia dropped to 0-6-2, 0-6-2.




Metro Suburban Conference


Wheaton Academy 8, Westmont 0
The Warriors, ranked 17th, improved to 5-1-0 in the league and 7-2-1 overall. Senior Corbin Bates led the way with two goals and an assist; and junior Kaiden Massie recorded a brace. Jude Barton, Caleb Mariotti and Robert Platt scored a goal apiece. Wheaton Academy also benefited from an own-goal. Each goal in the run of play was assisted. The additional helpers came from Mariotti (2), Platt, Lucas Landstrom, Haetham Nasr and Kyle Holwerda. Brandon Hoekstra recorded the shutout in his first varsity start. It was the Warriors fifth clean-sheet of the season. Wheaton Academy will return to action on April 6.




Upstate Eight Conference

Glenbard East 3, Streamwood 2

The no. 7 Sabres fought back from a 2-0 halftime but came up short. Jose Banuelos paced Streamwood (3-2-2, 0-1-2) with a goal and assist. E.J. Satsatin tallied a goal, and Joel Sandoval recorded a helper.




Nonconference

Belvidere 4, Genoa-Kingston 3

The Cogs showed some fatigue playing their fourth game in five days. Alan Rangel, Junior Leon and Eagan Reams scored for Genoa-Kingston. Reams and Alejo Pacheco had assists.

Warren 2, Lakes 0
Max Floriani scored on a PK after Ishaan Shah was fouled in the 37th minute. Shah tallied the insurance goal 20 minutes later off a Bradley Strauss assist. Nic Diana made four saves for the shutout for the no. 3 Blue Devils (5-0-0 overall). "The boys played very well versus a very explosive offensive team in Lakes," said coach Jason Ahonen. "I really enjoyed how we moved the ball, but we need to find the killer pass to create more chances in the attacking third. We were super happy to honor our 19 seniors today, and I wish them nothing but the best."
