IC Catholic Prep 1, Lincoln-Way Central 1 (IC wins PKs 3-0)
Goalkeeper Rochelle Spizzirri stopped all three PKs she faced, and Tess Reardon, Tessa Langan and Olivia Hurt converted to give IC the win over its Class 3A foe in the first round of the 32-team tournament. Grace Fuller scored for IC (1-0-0) in regulation.

Emma Walsh scored a first half PK and that was all the offense the Hilltoppers needed to win their season debut. Rose Mugnani made 2 saves for the shutout. Emily Reddy had three saves for visiting Schaumburg.
Naperville Central 2, Burlington Central 0
Meredith McGuire and Abby Hillman scored and Maggie Hillman added an assist in the Redhawks season-opening win. Kinzly Dressler recorded two saves for the hosts who now hit the road for downstate games Friday and Saturday.
Wheaton Academy 3, West Aurora 2
The Warriors rebounded from a 2-0 halftime deficit on goals from Sophie Lindquist, Gretchen Pearson and Emmerson Fuller to open the season with a win. Wheaton Academy can savor the victory. The Warriors (1-0-0) don't play again until they host Wheaton Warrenville South on Wednesday.
Wheaton North 1, Downers Grove South 0
A goal from Margaret Hupp and flawless work from keeper Katie Sullivan was all the Falcons needed to win their 2017 debut.
