Roundup (Tuesday, October 9)
DuKane Conference
Lake Park 5, St. Charles East 3
The host Fighting Saints (10-7-0, 4-3-0) were chasing and couldn't catch up to the 19th-ranked Lancers, who held a 3-2 halftime lead. St. Charles East star freshman Sebastian Carranza recorded a brace, and Luke Schnitker tallied a goal off a Renato Avendano assist.
Nonconference
Stevenson 2, Grayslake Central 0
The Rams surrendered two goals in the 40th minute to fall on their host's Senior Night. Alexis Garcia Perez made five saves for Grayslake Central (4-13-2). "We didn't get the result we worked for, but we played great soccer for 70+ minutes and created some dangerous opportunities, coach Tom Hamilton said. "Stevenson has a lot of quality and loads of athleticism, but I'm happy our guys were up for the challenge. It's all there but the finishing for us right now, so we'll spend the next couple days putting in the work and getting ready for Saturday (playoff opener vs. Antioch)."
