Goalkeeper Vyto Staniskis made six saves for the shutout in a battle between teams in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25. No. 5 Benet (9-1-1), which is unbeaten in its last six matches, now focuses on an East Suburban Catholic Conference contest at 10 a.m. Saturday at Carmel. No. 10 West Chicago stands at 12-1-3.


Geneva 1, DeKalb 0
Senior forward Matt Fuller's 34th-minute goal was the diffence-maker. Classmate and goalkeeper Osten Lockner made five saves for the shutout as the Vikings (11-3-2) extended their unbeaten streak to eight games. Next up for Geneva is a DuKane Conference 6:30 p.m. home match Tuesday vs. Lake Park.


St. Charles North 1, Streamwood 0
A first half goal undid the Sabres (6-8-3). Streamwood keeper Jonathon Castillo made five saves. The squad returns to Upstate Eight Conference action against Larkin at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Elgin High School. St. Charles North improved to 6-4-3 with the win and will train up to its next game, a 7 p.m. home nonconference affair against Neuqua Valley.



South Elgin 2, Neuqua Valley 1
The Storm won their seventh game in a row behind a brace from Angel Garcia-Resendiz. Jose Rangel contributed an assist. Goalkeepers Zach Juszko (1 goal against, four saves) and Christian Andrew (three saves) split the win. South Elgin (10-6-3) plays next vs. Upstate Eight rival Bartlett in the title game of the Hampshire Invitational at 11 a.m. Saturday.
