Chicagoland Soccer Top 25

By Patrick Z. McGavin

No matter how many known variables there are to a season, the unpredictable rules. Especially at the start.

Given the violently peculiar weather that sabotaged much of the opening week of the season, the start was only an extract. The first week movement reflects the known: Fremd is going to be formidable, Naperville North is the team to beat, and Barrington, New Trier and the two St. Charles programs are going to be around for the long run.

Neuqua Valley has phenomenal potential. They just need time and opportunity to take flight.

The Windy City Ram Classic is the first significant tournament of the season, and Lincoln-Way East and Glenbard East are barrelling toward a showdown.

All things considered, it's been a great and riveting start.
