News: Chicagoland Soccer Little All-State

The team is composed of players from smaller schools, co-op programs, historically under-recognized schools or a combination thereof. These players’ statistical success merited separate recognition outside of the Chicagoland Soccer Special Mention or All-State Watch List. 

 

Simonas Ankstutis, Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Westville (co-op), forward, junior
A superb finisher and excellent in space, he was virtually impossible to stop in the open field. Finished the Class A season with 40 goals and four assists.

Lukas Arbelaiz-Aguirre, Marion, forward, senior
A versatile and creative talent, he scored 29 goals and contributed 14 assists for the southern Illinois Class AA power.
 
Owen Avelar, Watseka/Milford (co-op), midfielder, senior
The dual threat playmaker and finisher recorded 33 goals and 14 assists for the Class A co-op..

Parker Baillie, Fisher/GCMS (co-op), keeper, senior
The fast, fluid and skilled keeper posted more shutouts (18) than goals conceded (14) in 1,680 minutes of action. After playing in 25 Class A games, he posted a 0.667 goals-against average.

Wences Baumgartner, Beecher, forward, junior
One of the most explosive scorers in the state, the two-time selection confirmed his status as an elite shot-maker with 39 goals. He added 15 assists to amass 93 points for the Class A club..

Colson Below, Peoria Christian, junior
The superb dual-threat talent scored 19 goals and created 22 assists for the Class A sectional finalist. Named first-team all-area by the Peoria Journal-Star.

Liam Bivins, Columbia, defender, senior
A signature piece of the attack for the Eagles’ back-to-back Class A Final Four teams, he showcased superb two-way talent as a disruptive defender on a backline that contributed to 15 shutouts. He also scored 17 goals and contributed 10 assists for the Eagles.

Reid Bodine, Williamsville, forward, senior
A versatile scorer in space or off set pieces, he scored 31 goals and contributed seven assists for the Class A supersectional qualifier.

Jaire Bonilla, Cristo Rey St. Martin, forward, senior
The athletic and explosive talent led the Class A sectional finalist with 20 goals and 15 assists.

Cesar Casas, Mendota, forward, sophomore 
A top scorer who contributed to the Trojans first state trophy. He finished with 32 goals and 12 assists for the Class A third place powerhouse.

Isaac Diaz, Mendota, forward, sophomore
Formed a devastating 1-2 punch for the Trojans with 31 goals and nine assists.

Henry Gallun, North Shore Country Day, midfielder, senior
The leading scorer of the Raiders’ Class A state championship team last year, the two-time selection commanded the middle of the park for the Raiders and  closed his superb career with a 13-goal, nine assist-season.

Noah Grieshaber, University (Normal), keeper, senior
The defensive foundation of the Pioneers’ back third, he posted 15 shutouts and permitted just one goal in the seven-game state series for the Class A state champions. In 2,055 minutes of play, he allowed 17 goals for a 0.661 goals-against average.

Zach Harper, St. Joseph-Ogden, forward, junior
The elite scorer punctured the 100-point barrier with 46 goals and 13 assists for the Class A sectional qualifier.

David Hull, Fisher/GCMS (co-op), forward, senior
His creativity and playmaking powered his team’s run to a sectional championship game. He finished with 24 goals and 23 assists. 

Caleb Kale, Alleman, midfielder, senior
An athletic and dynamic attacking talent, he finished with 28 goals and 17 assists for the Class A sectional qualifier.

Jude Keller, Marquette (Alton), midfielder, senior
One of the top players from the talent-rich suburbs of St. Louis, the repeat selection finished with 15 goals and 10 assists for the small-school powerhouse.

Jacob Klatt, Northridge, forward, senior
The 6-foot-2 striker provided a team-best 21 goals and nine assists to drive the program to its first Class A sectional championship. He is also a basketball standout.

Nick Kyes, Richmond-Burton, forward, sophomore
He formed an elite-scoring combination with his older brother Joe, and eclipsed the 100-point scoring mark with 43 goals and 16 assists for the Class A sectional qualifier.

Spencer Martin, Father McGivney, forward, senior
One of the top players out of Southern Illinois, he finished with 33 goals and 15 assists for the Class A sectional finalist.

Ethan Merritt, Oakwood/Salt Fork (co-op), forward, senior
He showcased speed, athleticism and superb touch to finish with a team-best 33 goals and seven assists for a Class A sectional qualifier.

Logan Mills, St. Joseph-Ogden, forward, senior
The offensive dynamo recorded 34 goals and 22 assists.

Luis Parra, Herscher, midfielder, junior
The two-time selection showed elite-scoring and creative ability with the ball, as evidenced by hitting the century mark in points with 37 goals and 26 assists for the traditional Class A power..

Sid Pfoff, Fisher/GCMS (co-op), forward, senior
The creative talent contributed a stellar 31 goals and nine assists for the 20-4-1 Bunnies.

Macen Phillips, Oakwood/Salt Fork (co-op), forward, senior
A dynamic multipurpose threat on or off the ball, he scored 19 goals and distributed 30 assists for the sectional qualifier.

Shabi Prasanth, University (Urbana), forward, senior
The elite scorer finished with the second-highest individual goal and point total in the state. He recorded 53 goals and 16 assists for 122 points in Class A competition..

Miguel Puntos, Cristo Rey, forward, senior
The athletic and commanding talent powered the Cristeros’ magical Class A state championship appearance with 22 goals and seven assists.

Cristian Sanchez, Plano, midfielder/keeper, junior
A heady and versatile talent, he scored 27 goals and added 14 assists for the Class AA Reapers. He also saw time in goal.

Maicol Sefton, Effingham, forward, junior
One of the most explosive scorers in southern Illinois, he finished with 38 goals and 11 assists for the Class AA Flaming Hearts.

Max Sirovatka, Lisle, defender, senior
A physically gifted and disruptive talent, he was the lynchpin of an elite defense that posted nine shutouts for a 16-3-0 Class A sectional finalist.

Narcisco Solarzano, Watseka/Milford (co-op), forward/midfielder, senior
A repeat selection, he showcased his elite scoring touch and ability to create constant duress on opposing backlines with expanded playmaking ability. He finished with 36 goals and 20 assists.

Jacob Walton, Peoria Christian, forward, junior
One of the state’s top scorers, he ignited the Chargers’ attack with a staggering 109 points on 45 goals and 19 assists. He earned first-team all-area recognition by the Peoria Journal-Star.

Jack Wendt, Alleman, forward, sophomore
He broke through as an elite scorer in his class with 31 goals and 16 assists for the sectional qualifier.

Landon Wernsing, Litchfield/Gillespie (co-op), midfielder, sophomore
A dynamic and explosive talent in space, he finished with 36 goals and 13 assists for the Class AA Purple Panthers.

Logan Wilkins, Beecher, midfielder, senior
The two-time selection ended his remarkable career as one of the top scorers in state history. The elite creator and scorer had 44 goals and 17 assists for the third-highest individual point-total in the state. He set school records for career goals (138) and assists (84).
