After conceding most of the play in the first half, Burlington Central (15-8-2) exploded for five goals in a 16-minute  second half stretch for the win. Sophomore forward Mekenzie Rogers, who finished with a brace and two assists, got things started in the 56th minute and then assisted classmate Sydney Batts in the 59th. Senior Ellie Elders knocked home a Rogers rebound for the third goal in the 61st minute for a three-goal run over six minutes. After a PK finish from senior Rylee Butler, Rogers ended the scoring in the 71st minute off a Batts assist. The Rockets get a rematch against Crystal Lake Central in the state semifinals at 1:30 p.m. Friday at North Central College in Naperville. Burlington Central fell 2-0 to the Fox Valley Conference champions April 18.  The Rockets are 12-0-0 against Class AA competition since that loss. Wheaton Academy entered the match as the last undefeated team in the state. The Warriors finished 18-1-2.
