After a scoreless first half, the 20th-ranked Patriots (5-2-1) broke the ice courtesy of a Sami An goal (Ellie Egeland assist) in the 55th minute. No. 7 Lane answered in the 60th minute. Near the 70th minute, Stevenson earned the upset on the game-winner from Amira Chavez after Morgan McKelvey deflected the ball off a defender.
