Class 3A state tournament

Addison Trail Regional

Bartlett 1, Lake Park 0
The 18th-seeded Hawks pulled the surprise in their playoff opener. Santi Reyes scored, assisted by Christian Avila. "I thought we played a very well-rounded game from front to back," said coach Anthony Glorioso. "The team was very aggressive winning air battles and building off those wins. Work ethic and effort definitely was a factor in our win tonight." Bartlett (4-13-4) advances to meet second-seeded St. Charles North at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. It will be the first meeting between the teams this season. Host Lake Park, a 15th-seed, finished its campaign at 6-15-1. 

 

Glenbrook North Regional

Libertyville 2, Wheeling 0
The host and 16th-seeded Wildcats (7-7-3) scored a goal in each half for the win. Lukas Krzeminski and Henry Bownas did the honors. Libertyville, a winner of four or its last five matches, advances to play top-seeded regional host Glenbrook North at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Schaumburg Regional

Wheaton North 5, Willowbrook 1
The Falcons enthuasiastically advanced to the semifinals with a strong performance. Senior forward Josh Simon led the way with a hat-trick and assist. William Bonga and Yusuf Habeeb completed the goal scoring. Bradley Powell provided two assists, and Julian Ospina and Chris Mann delivered an assist apiece. Sixthteenth-seeded Wheaton North (4-12-1) earned a date with top-seeded York at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
