Lake Zurich 4, Crystal Lake South 3
After a 1-0 Lake Zurich halftime lead, the teams combined for six goals in the second half. Crystal Lake South (4-3-1) came back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game, but the Class 3A Bears (5-3-0) put the game away with the next pair. Blake Marunde and Nolan Getzinger added assists for Crystal Lake South, which will try to end a two-game losing streak against Prairie Ridge in a big Fox Valley Conference early season match at home Thursday.

Morton 1, Reavis 1
In a Top 25 battle, visiting and second-ranked Morton fought to a draw on a Sergio Villegas goal that followed an Alexis Meza assist against no. 16 Reavis.

Pod E

Minooka 1, Glenbard North 1 (Minooka wins PKs 3-2)
The Glenbard North offense went into high gear after a 1-0 halftime deficit. The Panthers (4-5-1) finally broke through on a Jorge Roman finish with 4 minutes to play. Keeper Danny Noval was outstanding in the shootout stopping Minooka’s first two chances and converting his own, but Minooka (4-1-3) prevailed.

Pod H

Warren 4, Metea Valley 1
After Metea Valley pulled even, the Blue Devils (4-3-1) put the game away with a trio of goals. Christian Albarran starred with a hat-trick. Lucas Ahonen gave the Blue Devils the lead for good with a 39th-minute PK. Mikey Yang dealt out a pair of assists, and Eli Stoner had one for Warren.

Streamwood Fall Classic opening round

Group A

Streamwood 7, Timothy Christian 2
The Sabres rang up 7 goals in their seventh win of the year.  A.J. Sabanovic led the way with two goals and three assists. Max Galvan delivered a brace, which included an Olympico, and Bryan Huerta recorded a goal and assist. Ricardo Aguilar and Andy Benitez put their names in the goal column. Janiel Sanchez tallied an assist for Streamwood (7-2-0), which lead 4-1 at halftime.

Group B

Dundee-Crown 2, St. Charles East 1
After falling behind 2-0, the Fighting Saints (6-2-0) fought back before the break on a Marc Walker goal off an assist from Robert Kutrovatz. But St. Charles East, ranked 12th in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, couldn't find an equalizing second half tally and suffered the shocking defeat. Keeper Jordon Rolon made three saves in the first half; Ivan Campobasso didn't need to make a stop in the final 40 minutes.
