Elgin 4, Lake Park 0
The Maroons, who are ranked no. 1 in the first Chicagoland Soccer Top 25 of the season, cruised behind Eduardo Nava's hat-trick. Beto Gaytan added the remaining tally. Jayden Plancarte contributed a pair of assists, and Danny Perez dished out a solo helper for Elgin (3-0-0).

Morton 2, Stagg 1
The newly second-ranked Mustangs earned the road win against the no. 20 Chargers on Max Aquino's 76th-minute score off a Josh Trujillo assist. Jonathon Almaguer tied the game in the first half with help from Alexis Meza assist.

Streamwood 2, Boylan 0
Andy Mendoza (Alex Alcala assist) and A.J. Sabanovic (PK) led the Sabres (2-1-0) to the win in the first game of pool play. Issac Morales made four saves for Streamwood's first shutout of the season.

Orange Pool

St. Charles East 2, Metea Valley 1
After a scoreless first half, Metea Valley took a 1-0 lead. The host Fighting Saints came roaring back behind Omar Ontiveros, who scored twice in the final 11 minutes. The game-winner came on a PK in the 74th minute. Marc Walker assisted the first tally for no. 10 St. Charles East (3-0-0). Keeper Jordon Rolon made two saves in the match. The Fighting Saints meet Maine South at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the final pool play match that which will decide which team advances to the title match Saturday.
