The defending league champion Maroons, who are ranked second in the Chicagoland Soccer preseason First 50 poll, improved their conference unbeaten-streak to 11-straight games (10-0-1) in the match between 2022's top two teams. Elgin (2-0-0, 1-0-0) prevailed on the road thanks to a goal from Danny (Sergio) Perez after an Eduardo Nava assist.

Glenbard North 4, Fenton 2
First half goals by Christian Escobedo and Jorge Roman gave the Panthers (2-1-0) the lead at half in the Pool B match. Fenton cut the lead to one in the 55th minute before Escobedo put a great sequence together in the final third to give the Panthers a 3-1 advantage. Gavin VanTichelt ended the scoring for Glenbard North. Fenton added a goal in the last minute. Glenbard North meets Willowbrook in the second game of pool play at 4:45 p.m. Monday.
Knights Invite at Grayslake North
Warren 4, Harvard 1
The no. 31 Blue Devils found a quick answer after being equalized and went on to the decisive win. The first half scoring came in a clump. After Abraham Castrejon's unassisted goal gave Warren a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute, Harvard tied things up in the 27th. Chris Crowson connected a minute later to give Warren a 2-1 halftime lead. Lucas Ahonen finished with a goal and two assists. Crowson added an assist and Diego Torres capped the scoring in the 67th minute. Keepers Ethan Cole (2 first half saves) and Colton Holmes (1, 2nd) split the win for the Blue Devils (1-1-0). "Really proud of the way the boys came out today and really soaked in what we’ve been working on the past few day in training," said coach Jason Ahonen. "Our movement on and off the ball and overall creativity was much improved from our first game."

Benet 0, Bolingbrook 0
No. 16 Benet fought to a draw in its home-opener. Keeper Drew Connell kept the Redwings even with a seven-save performance. Benet (0-1-1) will attempt to secure its first win of the season when it meets South Elgin in the opening round of pool play at the Best of the West tournament at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Naperville North.

Quentin Albert scored off an Ethan Jimenez helper for the host Storm (0-1-1).
Streamwood 3, Glenbard West 2
After a 1-1 tie at the break, the Sabres took the road win on goals from A.J. Sabanovic (unassisted) and Jairo Sanchez (Max Galvan). Bryan Huerta scored on a first half PK. Keeper Issac Morales made four saves for 46th-ranked Streamwood (1-1-0). Next up is Boylan on Monday in the opening game of the Barrington Classic.
St. Charles Invitational
St. Charles East 1, Wheaton Academy 0
The no. 11 Fighting Saints (2-0-0) fought off the visiting Warriors. Marc Walker's second half goal, assisted by Giuseppe Avendano, was the difference in the opening round of pool play. Keeper Jordon Rolon made seven saves for the clean-sheet.

The Friars took the day on goals from John Ballarin (Jake Brecknock assist), Sammy Allaire (Evan Hickman, James Zimmer) and Ryan Agozo (Zimmer).
