News: Chicagoland Soccer Little All-State Team

The small school all-state team is comprised of players from Class A schools and emerging Class AA programs.

 

Becca Berkeley, junior, Rochelle Zell, MF/F
Repeat selection scored 24 goals and delivered seven assists.

Avery Berschel, junior, IC Prep, D
Keyed a backline that posted 15 shutouts for Class A fourth place team. Recorded six goals and two assists.

Calee Biedron, junior, Resurrection, F
One-girl wrecking crew scored 33 goals and created six assists.

Anna Brewer, junior, Althoff, GK
Two-time selection played 1,915 minutes, registered 14.5 shutouts, 140 saves and an 0.878 goals-against average.

Izzy Doerr, freshman, Murphysboro, F
Dazzled with 39 goals and nine assists for Class A sectional qualifier.

Maddie Drye, senior, Timothy, F
Repeat small-school choice and overall three-time Chicagoland Soccer all-stater recorded 34 goals and 13 assists for Class A sectional qualifier. Was the Metro Suburban Conference Red Division Player of the Year. 

Grace Durante, freshman, Beecher, F
The quick, explosive rookie turned heads with 36 goals and 15 assists.

Addison Finet, freshman, Monticello, F
Game-changer scored 30 goals and contributed 14 assists for Champaign-area power.

Adi Fraase, junior, Pleasant Plains (co-op), D
Top disruptive stopper on backline that posted 22 shutouts for Class A third place team. Also had four goals and two assists.

Layne Frericks, junior, Richmond-Burton, MF
Two-time selection was the orchestrator of an elite attack and finished with 15 goals and 18 assists for Class A supersectional qualifier.

Jasmine Geronimom freshman, Westinghouse, F
Transformed the recently formed Class AA West Side program with a whopping 47 goals and 13 assists.

Grace Groetken, sophomore, University (Normal), GK
Powered the Pioneers to the Class A state championship with 16 shutouts, including 1-0 state championship win over Alleman. Posted an 0.752 goals-against average.

Crystal Gutierrez, sophomore, Marine Leadership, F
Repeat selection was the state’s fourth-leading scorer with 111 points off of 48 goals and 15 assists for Class A sectional qualifier.

Avery Keck, senior, Notre Dame (Quincy), D
The first-time small-school choice and two-time overall Chicagoland Soccer all-stater was a standout two-way talent who helped her team post eight shutouts. Starred on the program’s 2022 Class A state-championship team.

Elise Kukuck, senior, Herscher, MF/F
Reached the magic 100-point total, but was only the third-leading scorer on the team. The Wright State commit posted 35 goals and 30 assists for the Class A supersectional qualifier.

Macey Moore, senior, Herscher, MF/F
Illinois' second-leading scorer posted a state-best 31 assists and added a staggering 42 goals for 115 points for the Class A supersectional qualifier. Joins Kukuck at Wright State.

Veronica Presberg, junior, Willows, MF
Repeat selection and Independent School League Player of the Year increased her totals to 28 goals and 14 assists this season.
 
Ruby Robles, senior, Marine Leadership, MF/F
The Governors State recruit finished as the seventh-leading scorer in the state with 107 points on 41 goals and 25 assists for the Class A sectional qualifier.

Ellie Semerau, sophomore, Harvest, F
Electric talent built an impressive 2023 resume of 39 goals and eight assists.

Margaret Slove, senior, Richmond-Burton, MF
Two-time selection recorded 28 goals and 18 assists for the Class A supersectional qualifier.

Emma Turner, senior, Indian Creek, F
Posted 29 goals and created six assists for the Class A sectional finalist.

Carson Wendt, sophomore, Alleman, MF/F
Scored a team-best 22 goals with seven assists for the Class A runnerup.
