Class 3A state tournament

Conant Regional semifinal

(1) St. Charles East 7, (17) Larkin 0 
Grace Williams scored four of the first five goals in a six-goal first half for the Fighting Saints (18-3-0), who were ranked 12th in the final Chicagoland Soccer Top 25 of the season. Tatum Smith added a goal and assist. Mia Raschke and Alli Saviano also scored. Ella Stehman led the assisters with two. Tia Bernstein, Faye Harling and Kara Machala each had one. Keepers Sidney Lazenby (40 minutes) and Grace Stehman (24) weren't tested in the shutout. St. Charles East will meet eighth-seeded Schaumburg, a 1-0 winner over no. 9-seeded host Conant, at 6 p.m.


Fremd Regional semifinal

(7) Warren 5, (10) Elk Grove 1
The 25th-ranked Blue Devils took control early. Addison Stanciak started with a PK in the fourth minute. Arly Melchor's first varsity goal in the fifth, after an assist from Stanciak, effectively put the game away. Stanciak again led the way for Warren, this time with a two-goal, two-assist night. Kate Mondejar added a goal, and Grace Rios posted two assists. Keeper Emma Megerle made three saves. Warren improves to 10-5-3 and will play their top-seeded and 10th-ranked host on at 5 p.m. Friday for the title. "I'm proud of how the girls came out and competed from the start tonight," said coach Ryan McCabe.

Lemont Regional semifinal

(7) Wheaton Academy 6, (10) Joliet Catholic 0
Rebecca Schulenburg (hat-trick, assist) did the heavy lifting to earn the Warriors a berth in the finals against their second-seeded regional host. Haley Serna, Annika Vandervelde and Britta Love also connected for goals. Anna Africa, Haleigh Manske, Eva DeSouza and Katelyn Schoepke helped set up the markers. Goalkeeper Noelle Niekamp did not need to make a save for the clean-sheet. The Warriors improved to 11-5-4. The Lemont Regional final kicks off at 4 p.m. Friday at the Lemont High School Sports Complex.
