The Storm (5-6-1) dropped their second-straight 1-0 decision in the tournament. Starting freshman keeper Jersie Spiedel surrendered a goal and made two saves. Second half goalie Karissa Cruz did not face a shot. South Elgin lost to eventual champion Prospect 1-0 Friday. The seventh place game against Palatine was canceled. The Storm faces a busy week with conference matches against Larkin on Monday, Elgin on Wednesday and East Aurora on Friday.

St. Charles East 1, Sandburg 1 (SCE wins PKs 4-3)
The Fighting Saints (14-0-0), ranked fourth in the Chicagoland Soccer Top 25, had to fight back to defeat the surprisingly stingy Eagles. Grace Williams' second half penalty kick tied the game. In the shootout, Williams, Ella Stehman, Mackenzie Loomis and Alli Saviano came through for the group-clinching win. St. Charles East faces a tough rematch in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Thursday. The team travels back to Fremd, where it beat the Vikings 3-1 in the season-opener on March 14.
